Before Nightfall (Had no ideas for a name, then
just thought what time of day it looks like ;)

Description : My first SPQ level, finally ready. I'm going to
make an episode of levels in a similar theme, but
with darker outdoor areas in each... "Darkening"
could be a good title. ;) Let's see if it's cool
to fight a shambler in total blackness. :)
The theme is a medieval castle. All the textures
are finally made by me, there's nothing from id's
wads (though some of "my" textures are re-coloured
versions of id's). The level has some monsters and
enough health to keep you alive... The difficulty
levels apply. There is perhaps too much ammo, but
before I added them, people kept complaining about
running out of ammo...
You MUST set R_MAXSURFS to 1050 and R_MAXEDGES to
2600 in order to remove the grayflash. I did
everything that should have helped this, but it
just won't work. I think you can as well add them
into your config.cfg (like: r_maxsurfs "1050").
The level is as playable without these, but most
people don't like the gray polygons appear. Crash,
even you should read this text file. ;)
Then the glorious good news: This level supports
IKguns v1.1. The exceptionally cool thing in this
is that the SAME level works with and without the
patch. I've made some custom spawnflag options
that can turn any weapon into plasmagun or
antishambler (and any kind of ammo into cells).
For example, this level has a plasmagun instead
of perforator when you run the patch...
PS. Get IKSTART.BSP too! It's ready and cool!
Additional Credits to : ID and who ever created Quest
But some discredits to the author of Quest
for making it incompatible with my video card
without univbe. (The 1.091 worked fine!!)
No more nag about the ID's Qbsp, I found a
working one.

Single Player : Yes, this is why this level exists.
Cooperative : Yes, 4 starts.
Deathmatch : Yes, about 7 starts... Tested agains 3 reapers.
Remember, this is a small level! Not for 32 guys!
Difficulty Settings : Yes
New Sounds : No
New Graphics : Yes, lots of new textures. The texture wad will
be available to download in the future.
New Music : No
Demos Replaced : I recorded one on nightmare, but it's too big to
download. I might upload it to ftp.cdrom.com as
a separate file.
* Construction *
Base : New level from scratch (still under construction)
Editor(s) used : Quest 1.1 (+usual qbsp etc)
Known Bugs : Couldn't get rid of the grayflash without r_max's.
I'm sorry. :( Put the r_max's in your config.cfg
so you don't need to think about them...
Build Time : About 26 hours so far. (Does NOT equal one day. ;)
Texture Wad used : "IKWizard.wad"
Compile machine : P150 with 16M (DOS)
QBSP Time : approx.20 min
Light Time (extra) : 5 min
VIS Time (level 4) : (A night < 8 hours)
Brushes : a little over 700
Entities : 250 or so.
Models : 50... Lots of monster teleports. ;)

levels. The start map is out already, and ikspq2 is under construction.
The start map is extremely good in few-players DM too, check it out. Also,
it's of course a cool-looking way to select difficulty levels for this map.
And get the ikguns 1.1! It will work in my every single player level.
